Black Widow movie still reveals new take on Taskmaster

Marvel Studios has posted a new photo of Black Widow offering a fresh take on the movie‘s villain, Taskmaster. Known for his “photographic reflexes,” the Taskmaster can mimic the fighting styles of anyone he sees. They might be using that ability in this stare with Natasha Romanoff. You can see the photo, revealed in USA todaypreview of the summer movie, below. The design of Taskmaster’s costumes in the film has caused discord among Marvel fans. In the Marvel Comics Universe, Taskmaster’s unlikely costume design includes a mask / helmet that makes his head look like a skull, which is difficult to translate into live action. Black WidowTaskmaster’s costume designers have gone for a more practical design for Taskmaster’s Marvel Cinematic Universe look, but some fans think the villain looks too much like a simple biker or a villain from the Power Rangers.

While Taskmaster’s MCU identity remains a mystery, in the comics, Taskmaster is Tony Masters, a former shield agent who fought the Avengers to a standstill. He mimicked Captain America’s shield throw, Black Panther’s claw fight, and Hawkeye’s archery skills. These skills have been exhibited in promotional images released for Black Widow, suggesting that Natasha will have her hands full in the face of the villain.
