MUMBAI: Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap’s upcoming feature ‘Dobaaraa’, starring Taapsee Pannu, is set to screen at the 26th edition of the Fantasia International
Film Festival. The mystery drama, which is the Hindi remake of the 2018 Spanish film “Mirage,” recently opened the London Indian Film Festival (LIFF).
“Dobaaraa” is the only Indian film to be screened at the Fantasia International Film Festival, which is held annually in Montreal, Canada, according to a press release.
The 2022 edition of the film gala will take place from July 14 to August 3, with its Frontières International Co-production Market from July 21 to 24.
“Dobaaraa” is jointly produced by Ektaa Kapoor’s Cult Movies, a new division under , and Sunir Kheterpal and Gaurav Bose’s Athena banner.
The film marks Kashyap and Pannu’s third collaboration following 2018’s hit “Manmarziyaan” and biographical drama “Saand Ki Aankh” (2019), on which he served as a producer.

He also reunites her with “Thappad” co-star Pavail Gulati.
“Dobaaraa” is set to be released worldwide on August 19.

The film will be released on July 1 in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kanada and English versions. Shah Rukh Khan will be seen making an appearance in the Hindi and English releases, while Suriya will be seen in the southern releases.
‘Pakka Commercial’ (Telugu)
The film stars Telugu superstar Gopichand and actress Raashi Khanna in the lead. “Pakka Commercial” is dubbed a courtroom action comedy. The film which has music by Jakes Bejoy will be released on July 1. It also stars Sathyaraj, Rao Ramesh and Anasuya Bhardwaj.
‘Shamshera’
Bollywood idol Ranbir Kapoor will be seen in an action avatar in this period drama. “Shamshera” also stars Sanjay Dutt and Vaani Kapoor in key roles. The film has music written by Mithoon and photography by Anay Goswami. It is set in the 1800s and chronicles the life and times of a Dacoit tribe. It will hit theaters on July 22.
‘Rashtra Kavatch Om’
The action thriller directed by filmmaker Kapil Verma will see Aditya Roy Kapur in a new avatar. The film also stars Sanjana Sanghi, Jackie Shroff, Ashutosh Rana and Prakash Raj in key roles. The film will be released in theaters on July 1.
