Endgame is the ‘last’ Avengers movie, says Marvel boss

The Marvel Cinematic Universe may have already seen its final Avengers movie.

During the last episode of Marvel Studios: AssembledMarvel boss Kevin Feige has explained that Avengers: Endgame is the “final” Avengers movie.

“Marvel Studios and the Marvel Cinematic Universe have now passed their tenth anniversary,” he explained. “And with the release of the final Avengers movie, we’ve finally completed a 22-movie Infinity Saga.”

Endgame: Where the hell were these characters when the Avengers needed them?

Of course, the Avengers weren’t in top form the last time we saw them.

At the end of Endgame, we lost both Iron Man and Black Widow, while the Hulk was badly injured trying to undo Thanos’ snap. Even Captain America left his old life as a superhero behind.

And while the unhooking did bring back some Marvel favorites like Doctor Strange and Spider-Man, it leaves the team feeling leaderless and without their heavy hitters.

Does this mean the Avengers are over?

Unlikely – instead, I wouldn’t be surprised if we saw Doctor Strange take the lead in the ragtag Avengers group following the team’s losses. After all, the upcoming Marvel movie Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness seems to connect to a lot of different Marvel properties. And the former Sorcerer Supreme may end up rallying the troops.

Whether or not they stick together as “The Avengers” is another matter altogether. After all, comic book versions of our favorite superheroes often switch allegiance between multiple superhero teams. Not to mention that Marvel may choose to focus on team-ups in solo films rather than big event movies like The Avengers.

Avengers: Infinity War was the culmination of the Infinity Saga that began in 2008 with Iron Man. Bringing together all of the MCU’s superheroes to take on Thanos and his forces, it was the epic climactic battle we’ve all been hoping for.

And it brought us many good times for the fans.

What’s next for the MCU? We will have to wait and see. But with the next Doctor Strange sequel set to tear the multiverse apart, the possibilities are nearly endless.
