Netflix’s Most Anticipated Mystery Thriller Series Arrives Tomorrow

Fans of mystery TV shows will be delighted to know that Netflix’s most anticipated series of the genre is set to drop on Thursday.

Jantje Friese and Baran bo Odar, the creators of the acclaimed German sci-fi thriller Dark which has been acquired by Netflix worldwide, have teamed up again on an exciting new project.

The series, titled 1899tells the story of a group of European migrants traveling from London on a steamer for a journey to New York where the migrants hope to start a new life.

Most of the plot is shrouded in mystery, but here’s everything we can gather based on the trailer. The passengers, all from different backgrounds, are united by their hopes for a new century and their future abroad.

During the journey, they encounter another migrant ship adrift on the high seas and their trip soon turns into a nightmare.

We see travelers receive the ominous message that another ship has been spotted in the show’s disturbing trailer.

The stark differences in wealth and class between the two ships are also evident, as the passengers of the Prometheus – which is believed to have sunk – ask for much-needed help.

What the migrants will find aboard the Prometheus will turn their passage to the promised land into a nightmarish enigma, connecting the past of each of the passengers as secrets are revealed.

The series has an incredibly large cast, including Andreas Pietschmann (DARK), Emily Beecham (The pursuit of love), Maciej Musiał (the witcher), Aneurin Barnard (Dunkirk), Miguel Bernardeau (Elite), Lucas Lynggaard Tonnesen (Rain, Borgen), Clara Rosager (The rain), Jose Pimentao (Al Berto), Mathilde Ollivier (boss level), Jonas Bloquet (the nun), Yann Gael (Sakho & Mangane), Isabelle Wei (Our 4°c – Able World), Gabby Wang (A thug), Rosalie Craig (Love sick), Maria Erwolter (The ritual) and Alexandre Willaume (The wheel of time).
