We may be entering a new chapter in our very science factual pandemic, but the science fiction will not be ignored. The Hugo Awards 2021 were presented at the Omni Shoreham in Washington DC as part of DisCon III. The ceremony was also broadcast around the world, as was the style of the time. Awarded by the World Science Fiction Convention since 1953, the Hugo’s are recognized as a big deal in the worlds of science fiction, fantasy and speculative fiction. Previous winners include Arthur C. Clarke, NK Jemisin, and G. Willow Wilson. The price has been the center of controversy as more diverse voices in fiction are heard.

This year, Underworld won a special category for best video game, only the second time the award has been presented. Other awards were given to Netflix The old guard and the NBC series finale The right place. Below is the full list of winners.
