Shows like the expanse you absolutely must see

Imagine this: you have been alone on a space station for 13 months. Coming home is going to be a bit difficult. You have to fall back into your old life, rekindle your relationship with a husband you haven’t seen in over a year, and figure out what to do with the new android son your husband has built for you. Sounds like a challenge, right? Well, how’s that for one more wrinkle: you also found out you’re mysteriously pregnant.

“Extant” appears to be executive producer Steven Spielberg’s attempt to tell “Rosemary’s Baby” in space. The main plot focuses on Molly Woods (Halle Berry) as she tries to figure out where the baby came from and tries to keep her pregnancy a secret from the private corporation that sent her into space in the first place.

Molly’s struggle is intertwined with that of her husband, John (Goran Visnjic), who built their android son Ethan to fill the void left by the couple’s infertility. John tries to get the world to accept his work on androids, but Ethan shows disturbing behavior, hinting at something more sinister to come. Unfortunately for Molly, the society she is trying to hide from decides to invest in John’s job in order to keep tabs on her.

“Extant” never quite lives up to its lofty concepts, but its blend of relationship drama, shadowy societies, alien-human hybrids, and suspicious androids make it a fun, slow-paced thriller that will keep you guessing. to come back for more – or, at the very least, to see what scary things come out of Ethan’s mouth next.
