Spider-Man: No Way Home star Tom Holland says he wants a movie starring Florence Pugh’s Peter Parker and Yelena Belova / Black Widow.
Spider-Man: Far From Home star Tom Holland has said he wants his Peter Parker to team up with Florence Pugh’s Yelena Belova / Black Widow for a future film.
In a red carpet interview at Spider-Man: No Path Home First, Entertainment Tonight asked Holland about all the new stars in the MCU and who he wants to work with next. “I want to work with Florence Pugh,” Holland said. “I think she’s amazing. She’s so good at this movie and every movie she’s done. I think she’s fantastic. I think a really cool Spider-Man / Black Widow movie would be a fun little twist. “
Pugh made his Marvel Cinematic Universe debut as Yelena in 2021 Black Widow. This film, which took place before the events of 2018 Avengers: Infinity War, saw Yelena and Natasha Romanoff / Black Widow team up to destroy the Red Room. Following Natasha’s death in 2019 Avengers: Endgame, Yelena has taken up the torch from Black Widow. Since then, she has appeared on the Disney + series Hawkeye seeking revenge on Clint Barton, who she says is responsible for Natasha’s death. At the moment, it’s not entirely clear when Yelena will appear next time in the MCU, although she is likely to play a big role in the future.
Holland, who joined the MCU with the 2016 Captain America: Civil War, will then appear in No way home. This film, which follows the events of 2019 Spider-Man: Far From Home, sees Peter attempting to regain his anonymity after Quentin Beck / Mysterio (Jake Gyllenhaal) reveals his secret identity to the world. To do this, he enlists the help of Doctor Stephen Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch). However, the spell they attempt to use fails, and Holland’s Peter is forced to fight villains from previous Spider-Man series, including Otto Octavius / Doctor Octopus (Alfred Molina), Max Dillon / Electro (Jamie Foxx ) and Norman Osborn / Green Gobelin (Willem Dafoe).
As for Holland’s MCU future, the actor recently said he’s not quitting the role just yet. Sony Pictures also confirmed earlier this week that Holland’s Spider-Man will appear at least once more. There are also reports that Holland signed for another solo movie.
Directed by Jon Watts from a screenplay by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers, No way home hits theaters on December 17th. Tickets for the film are on sale now. Black Widow is currently available on home media and Disney +.
